Westborough Resident in 2015 Boston Marathon; Fundraising for Joe Andruzzi Foundation

[received on Facebook from Emma Sellers Thibault — webmaster]

Hi there. I am a Westborough resident who is running the Boston Marathon. I am partnering with Not Your Average Joe’s in Westborough to help my fundraising. Every Tuesday between now and the marathon, anyone who presents the attached flyer will have 15% of their check donated to the Joe Andruzzi Foundation which helps cancer patients and their families both emotionally and financially.

  1. Hi everyone. I wanted to tell you a little bit more about the Joe Andruzzi Foundation and why it is so important to me. The Joe Andruzzi Foundation is committed to providing help, hope, and a reason to smile for cancer patients and their families by contributing financial and emotional support when it is needed most. When someone can’t pay rent because they are too sick to work, the Joe Andruzzi Foundation helps. When someone has trouble finding child care or paying for parking when they have to commute to the city for their cancer treatments, the Joe Andruzzi Foundation helps. They help keep patients and their families upbeat as they go through such a difficult time in their lives by hosting amazing and unique experiences and events. Their whole motto is (Up)Beat Cancer – keep a positive attitude and fight cancer with jokes, laughs, positivity and hope.

I am passionate about this because my family has been affected by cancer many times and I understand the toll it can take on patients, caregivers, and other family members. We did not have to worry about finances and could just focus on supporting each other. I wish every family could have that privilege and I am so proud to be able to represent an organization that is committed to the same goal at the Boston Marathon.
