Congrats to our incumbents and two newcomers in town elections yesterday.

Contested Races

Trustees of the Public Library, three year term:
  • Helena K. Engberg, 503 votes (incumbent)
  • Karen D. Griegal, 497 votes (incumbent)
  • Geralyn A. Kohler, 447 votes New!

Also running was Miriam P. Cronin, 429 votes.

Housing Authority, five year term:
  • Joan B. Pavolis, 420 votes (incumbent)

defeating challenger Charles E. Naples, 284 votes

Uncontested races

Board of Selectmen, three year term
  • Tim Dodd, 645 votes (incumbent)
  • Leigh Emery, 611 votes (incumbent)

Westborough School Committee, three year term

  • Stephen Doret, 631 votes (incumbent)
  • Bruce Tretter, 629 votes (incumbent)

Planning Board, five year term

  • Lester Hensley, 638 votes New!

If you are not sure where to cast your vote, call the Town Clerk’s office at 508-366-3020. Town Clerk’s Office Hours: Mon., Wed., Thurs.: 8 am – 5 pm, Tues: 8 am – 8 pm; Fri: 7:30 – noon.

It's Spring Festival Weekend! May 1 & 2, 2010

What glorious weather this weekend for the annual Westborough Spring Festival, hosted by Rotary Club of Westborough, with events from Westborough Civic Club and the Westborough Lions Club.

Please come out tonight and tomorrow to support our great organizations and have a terrific family-friendly fun time.

* Lions Sightmobile *

The Lions Sightmobile will offer Free Eye and Hearing  screening 11 - 3pm (Sunday).  The health screening consists of 3 eye checks, blood sugar check and a hearing check.  Westborough Lion Dr. Khuong Nguyen from Westborough Eye Care will be the doctor in attendance during the screening.

Tickets - $12.00 Adults, $9.00 Children/Seniors
Proceeds from the shows are used to provide music scholarships to local Junior and Senior High School students to assist with private music lessons.
The Spring show also features performances by some of the scholarship recipients.
