Economic Crisis Workshop Series of Central Massachusetts:

TOOLS FOR SUCCESS

Thursday, October 15th , 2009 marks the kickoff of an eight-part workshop series, designed to provide Central Massachusetts jobseekers and business ownerswith critical coping and skill building tools within today’s challenging economic climate.

The first session, “Making the Most of LinkedIn for Networking” will be held at Tatnuck Booksellers in Westborough, MA, from 6:30-8:30pm . These workshops are sponsored through a coalition among Gesher, a business networking group of Westborough’s Congregation B’nai Shalom, WCMC (Worcester Central Massachusetts Connections) and Jewish Family Service of Worcester.

Future workshop topics and dates include:

  • 11/5/09 : “Getting the Interview: Strategies for Job Search Success.”
  • 11/19/09: “Meditation and Relaxation during Periods of Crisis.”
  • 12/10/09: “Launching your Own Business...Legally.”
  • 1/07/10 : “Why Did God do this to me? Spiritual Responses to Financial Crisis.”
  • 1/28/10 : “For Richer or for Poorer: Family Coping With Economic Stress.”
  • 2/11/10 : Double session:
    “Financial Wellness in Economically Stressful Times” and,
    “Basic Estate Planning to Protect Families.”
  • 3/11/10 : “Healthcare Insurance Options during Unemployment.”

All workshops will be led by noted professionals in their respective fields.

Sessions will be on Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:30 pm at Tatnuck Booksellers, Rt. 9 & Lyman St., Westborough, MA. The November 5th workshop will be at Congregation B’nai Shalom, 117 East Main St., Westborough.

Admission is free and will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

The series is a collaborative program between Gesher (Congregation B'nai Shalom, Westborough), WCMC (Worcester Central Mass Connections) and JFS Worcester. Funding for this program made possible through a grant from the JFCM (Jewish Federation of Central Massachusetts).
