DEFINING THE AMERICAN DREAM
Polito Sponsors Essay Contest
BOSTON – Representative Karyn E. Polito, R-Shrewsbury, is sponsoring an essay contest for citizens of Shrewsbury and Westborough to describe the meaning of the American Dream. As our country has grown and evolved over the past 233 years, the American Dream has evolved from liberating our great nation from British rule to ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to work hard and prosper in today’s world. So much of what our founding fathers imagined has stayed true, though much has changed, and I am interested in your interpretation of this national ideal.
The essay contest “Defining the American Dream”, is open to Shrewsbury and Westborough residents, and a winner will be selected from each of the following age groups: Grades 1-4, Grades 5-8, Grades 9-12, College Students, Age 60+.
“Defining the American Dream”
Please describe in 300 words or less what the American Dream means to you. Please make sure to include your name, address and date of birth or current grade level on a cover sheet to be included with your essay.
Submissions must be postmarked between September 10th to October 10th and essays should be either mailed or emailed to Rep. Polito’s State House office:
