"Hello Westborough families and Westborough staff.   I'm calling to notify you that all schools will be closed tomorrow, Friday December 19th, due to the current weather forecast.  Offices will be open until 11 AM.   We wish you happy holidays and a happy new year."

The above phone message was received around 8:19 PM, along with a text message as well confirming school closure.  Have fun, kids!

Mill Pond School

From the Mill Pond School letter dated August 4, 2008 sent to Grade 6 Parents from Reene Hatherley:

"I'd like to invite you all to join us here at Mill Pond on Thursday, August 21st, for our Open Door Day. While you are absolutely welcome to come any time from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., we are encouraging fith and sixth graders to come between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.  Our new fourth graders will be visiting the school between 9:00 and 11:00 a.m.  However, please come whenever it is most convenient for you.  This will be a great opportunity for you to see the sixth grade classrooms and to revisit the cafeteria, gym, and computer labs.  While it is unlikely that classroom teachers will be present that day, our assistant principal and I will be availabel to greet you and, perhaps, to answer some of your quetions.  Complete class rosters will be posted on the door of each homeroom so that your children can also find out who their classmates will be."

Gibbons Middle School Written by Mark A.    Open door day is an annual tradition practiced at Westborough schools that allows students to go into the school a couple weeks before the term actually starts. This gives them a chance to set-up lockers, locate classrooms, and to discover who is in their homeroom class, regular classes, or their locker neighbor. This is a great opprutunity, especially for the 7th grade, to be more prepared for the first day, as well as reduce the backpack load. This year, Gibbons' Open Door Days are the 12th of August from 12- 2:30 PM, and August 19th from 8-11 AM. If you cannot make these dates, the administration encourages you to call ahead of time and schedule a time for you to come with your child. Remember to bring anything you want to put in your locker early!
