Westborough Community Band 2010 Summer Season
The Westborough Community Band is set to begin a second summer of performances for the community.
Under the direction of Matthew Lefebvre, the band members are of all ages from many communities.
This year performances are scheduled for the Fourth of July block party, and two concerts at the Bay State Green park pavilion. (As of now, the concerts will be Sunday July 11 and Sunday Aug 15.)
All rehearsals will be on Wednesdays and will be held at the Westborough High School band room beginning June 23. Rehearsals will run from 6-7:30 on June 23, 30, July 7, 14,August 4 and 11.

Please come and enjoy an evening at the park with fantastic jazz music provided by the jazz ensembles from the Westborough Schools. Pick up a picnic dinner at Panera or bring your own. The weather is cooperating very nicely!

The Westborough Public Schools will be hosting the first public jazz concert on the pavilion at Bay State Green on Monday, June 7. This event is free and open to the public. The schedule will be as follows:
5:00 PM – Mill Pond Jazz Ensemble, Paul Tomashefsky - director
5:30 PM – Gibbons Jazz Ensemble, Karen Forrest - director
6:00 PM – High School Jazz Combo – David Jost - director
6:30 PM – High School Repertoire Jazz Band – Matthew Lefebvre - director
7:00 PM – High School Festival Jazz Band – Matthew Lefebvre – director
Bay State Green park is located in the Bay State Commons, located in downtown Westborough off East Main Street.

Opening reception: March 7, 2010, 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM
On Sunday, March 7th, 2010, The Westboro Gallery will celebrate the opening of its latest show, Drawing the Light, by pastel artist Dave Kaphammer. An opening reception will be held from 2-5pm at the gallery’s satellite space at Tatnuck Bookseller and Café, 18 Lyman Street in Westboro. The reception is open to the public and light refreshments will be served. The exhibit will be on display at Tatnuck Bookseller from March 7 through June 2, 2010.

"Goofus" from the Westborough Community Chorus
This spring, the Westborough Community Chorus celebrated their 40th anniversary with three shows from Apr 30th - May 2nd. "40 & Fabulous!" featured musical highlights and performances by the chorus over the past 40 years. The show also presented performances by this year's scholarship recipients.
Proceeds from the show will go to scholarships for students planning to pursue music-related careers. A basket raffle was also held at each show.
