Treasures to explore today! Spurr Open House & Two Community Yard Sales

There’s multiple treasures to explore today!

Spurr Open House

10 AM – 12 Noon

There will be an open house Saturday, Sept. 12, from 10 a.m. to noon, at the Spurr House, 7 Parkman St. The Spurr House was built in 1849 and is owned by the Town of Westborough since the Forbes family donated the house to the town in 1933. For many years the American Legion used the home as a meeting place, but it has been vacant since 2014.

A Spurr House Committee was appointed at March Town Meeting to develop recommendations for the ultimate disposition of the house and property and present at the Oct. 19 Town Meeting. Since then, the Committee has been conducting community outreach to assist with its research and findings. The Sept. 12 open house will be an opportunity to showcase the home’s architecture and condition and to receive feedback from visitors.
