A lightning strike caused an explosion in a building housing heating and air conditioning units. National Grid USA's headquarters, Research Drive off Technology Drive at 6:45 p.m
Black smoke could be seen three miles.
More than 50 firefighters from Worcester, Hopkinton, Southborough, Shrewsbury, Northborough,
Grafton and Upton Fire Departments responded to the scene to aide Westborough in fighting the fire.
The Marlborough and Ashland Fire Departments covered Westborough's fire stations.
A Firefighters PrayerWhen I am called to duty, God, whenever flames may rage,
Give me strength to save some life, whatever be its age.
Help me embrace a little child before it to late,
Or save an older person from the horror of that fate.
