Westborough Water Restrictions
DROUGHT WARNING issued by The town Selectmen (Selectman Vote to Raise rates as well ::MORE)
The town Selectmen have declared a "Drought Warning" condition as of March 26, 2002.
Restrictions for DROUGHT WARNING
Contact the DPW by calling: 508 366-3070
- Mandatory water conservation on an alternate date schedule for outdoor use.
- NO watering of lawns and NO outdoor sprinklers allowed.
- Manual watering of gardens and trees with hose or water- can allowed.
- Car washing allowed; do not let water run.
- Residents may request a two-week watering permit from the DPW for NEW lawns. (NO watering between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.)
- Residents may request permission from the DPW to top off their swimming pools.
- Residents may request a one day watering permit from the DPW for specific activities, such as pressure washing.
OUTDOOR WATER USE RESTRICTION SCHEDULE
Restrictions will be strictly enforced by the Police Dept.
- Even # houses may use water outdoors on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
- Odd # houses may use water outdoors on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
- NO outdoor water use on Mondays (allows system to replenish.)
- NO watering between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

It would be most helpful if residents and businesses who use private wells would also observe these conservation measures because their water is drawn from the same underground sources as their neighbors. The Selectmen appreciate the efforts that Westborough residents have made in the past to conserve water in times of scarcity, and they again ask for your cooperation.
- First Offence - A warning
- Second Offence - $50.00 fine
- Third Offense - $100.00 fine
